A star Big 12 guard has hit the portal, as Texas' Tyrese Hunter will transfer, in news first reported by CBS's Jon Rothstein.
Hunter has had a unique college hoops career. He was the leading scorer on Iowa State's Sweet 16 team in 2022, before electing to transfer and play the last two years at Texas. There, he was good but not great for the Longhorns, averaging 11.1 points, with four assists on 34 percent shooting from behind the three-point arc this past season. Those numbers are nearly identical to what he did at Iowa State as a freshman three seasons ago.
With it, Hunter will now look for a fresh start elsewhere
