Andre Curbelo is in the transfer portal

Andre Curbelo, a talented point guard, who had two up-and-down seasons at Illinois, has decided to enter the transfer portal in news first reported by ESPN's Jeff Borzello.

Curbelo took college hoops by storm as a freshman during Illinois' Big Ten Tournament title run, averaging 9.5 points, four rebounds and four assists per game. However, he suffered a concussion early this season and simply wasn't the same, season his numbers dip from to 7.5 points per game and three assists, all while his turnovers increased.

Still, he is a former Top 50 recruit and should be coveted now that he's in the portal.

It's worth noting that the assistant coach who recruited him to Illinois, Orlando Antigua, is now an assistant at Kentucky.
