In a bit of surprising news, Matthew Mayer, a key cog on Baylor's 2021 national title team has decided to enter the transfer portal, in news first reported by Stadium's Jeff Goodman.
Mayer was a dead-eye shooter for that 2021 title team, averaging eight points on 39.5 percent three-point shooting - but saw his numbers dip on an injury-plagued Bears team this year. Still, should he decide to transfer, Mayer would immediate scoring pop to any team's backcourt.
Per Goodman, Mayer's plan is to continue to test the NBA Draft waters before making any decision on his college hoops future.
