Duke picks up a much-needed veteran piece

Duke will rely mostly on a star-studded freshman class next season, but added a key veteran piece in the portal on Monday - as former Purdue forward Mason Gillis announced his transfer to the Blue Devils.

Gillis was a key role player on this year's Boilermaker team, averaging six points and four rebounds, all while shooting 47 percent from beyond the three-point arc.

He will now spend his final year in college hoops playing at Duke, which also took a commitment from Syracuse forward Maliq Brown earlier this week.
