Elite portal big man is down to three schools - in what could be a fascinating recruiting battle

Elite portal big man Amari Williams is down to three schools - in what is quickly shaping up to be a unique recruiting battle.

Per Joe Tipton, the three schools still in the running for Williams are Kentucky, St. John's and Mississippi State, meaning that it could come down to new Kentucky head coach Mark Pope vs. his former coach Rick Pitino for WIlliams' services.

The 6'11 Williams is one of the best bigs in the portal, after averaging 12 points, seven rebounds and two blocks per game at Drexel. Those numbers were actually down from his numbers a year ago, but regardless, Williams is the two-time CAA Defensive Player of the Year, showing just what kind of game-changer he is at the rim.

Williams has one year of eligibility remaining.
