Former North Carolina Tar Heel Tyler Nickel entered the transfer portal last week, and has already heard from some of the biggest names in college basketball.
Among the schools to reach out according to On3's Joe Tipton include: Iowa, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Davidson, Cincinnati, VCU, Marquette, James Madison.
A 6'7 forward, Nickel is a former Top 100 recruit who came in highly touted to Carolina, but struggled to see the floor. He averaged 2.1 points per game in 26 appearances. Among his many offers coming out of high school was Iowa, so there is a pre-existing relationship there.
