Former Top 40 prospect Earl Timberlake is back in the portal

Earl Timberlake, a former Top 40 prospect who began his career at Miami and played at Memphis this past season, has decided to enter the transfer portal. The news was first reported by 247 Sports' Travis Branham.

Timberlake had an up-and-down role with Memphis this year, starting several games early, before being relegated to the bench as the Tigers got hot late. He averaged just 4.7 points per game, after averaging nearly double-figures during an injury-ravaged 2020-2021 campaign.

Still, as a 6'6 guard with play-making skills, Timberlake should receive plenty of interest in the portal. It is unclear whether he will be eligible or have to sit out this season, since he already transferred once.
