Less Than A Week from Playing for Title, Gonzaga Loses Player To Transfer Portal

Oumar Ballo, the 7-0, 260-pound redshirt freshman from Mali, has put his name into the transfer portal, per ESPN's Jeff Borzello. Ballo appeared in 24 games this past season for the national runner-up Bulldogs. He averaged 6.2 minutes per game, scoring 60 points and grabbing 37 rebounds.

His best game came against Northern Arizona on December 28 when he scored 17 points and collected five rebounds. His size alone should make him a popular target in the portal. He was labeled the top international prospect in 2019 by ESPN’s Jonathan Givony.
