Former LSU G Eric Gaines is transferring to UAB to play for Head Coach Andy Kennedy. The 6'2" Guard from Lithonia, Georgia, averaged 9.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 2022 at LSU. Gaines was ranked as the #102 overall player and the #13 ranked Point Guard in 247Sports' Top 100 Players in the Class of 2020. UAB has had success with transfer Point Guards, including Jordan "Jelly" Walker, who led the Blazers to the 2022 NCAA Tournament.
