Memphis adds another significant piece in the transfer portal

Memphis won't quite have the depth of last year's NCAA Tournament team, but there's little doubt they'll still be talented - especially after adding a key transfer on Sunday. That would be former Boise forward Emmanuel Akot.

The 6'8 Akot has had a long, winding, college career, beginning at Arizona, before playing the last two years at Boise State. This past season he was a key cog on the Broncos NCAA Tournament team, averaging 10 points, three rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.

Akot will use his extra year of Covid eligibility in Memphis, joining a core that includes returnee DeAndre Williams and guard Kendric Davis.
