Memphis adds one of the best guards in the transfer portal - as Texas' Tyrese Hunter has announced he'll play for Penny Hardaway next year.
A 6'0 guard, Hunter is a college hoops veteran, who spent one year at Iowa State, before spending the last two at Texas. He has averaged double-figures in all three seasons as a high-major college basketball player, totaling 11.1 points per game, to go along with 4.1 assists per contest in 2024.
Hunter is the fourth high-profile transfer heading to Memphis, joining guards PJ Haggerty (Tulsa), Colby Rogers (Wichita State) and forward Dain Dainja (Illinois).
He'll have one year of eligibility remaining.
