Tanner and Jacob Groves, two players who a made a name for themselves for Eastern Washington in this year's NCAA Tournament have both entered the transfer portal. The news was first reported by ESPN's Jeff Borzello. Tanner Groves was the Big Sky Player of the Year this season, tallying 17.2 points and eight rebounds for the Eagles, while Jacob averaged 9.3 points per contest, but dropped 23 points in a narrow NCAA Tournament loss to Kansas. Tanner Groves is a 6'9 junior, while Jacob groves is 6'7 and just finished his sophomore year.
It's worth noting that Eastern Washington head coach Shantay Legans left Eastern Washington shortly after the team's tournament run for the open spot at Portland. Former assistant David Riley was elevated to the lead position at the school.
