Ben Johnson was named the head coach at Minnesota a week ago, and a week later, got his first big-time commitment. On Monday, the Golden Gophers picked up a commitment from high-scoring George Washington guard Jamsion Battle. Battle was a flat out star for the Colonials in 2021, averaging 17.3 points and over five rebounds per game, and also shot 35 percent from behind the three-point line. The 6'7 guard should be an immediate contributor for the Golden Gophers next season.
