North Carolina landed one of the best players available in the portal, as former Alabama forward Jarin Stevenson has committed to the Tar Heels in news first reported by On3's Joe Tipton.
A 6'9 forward, Stevenson was originally a member of the class of 2024, before reclassifying and enrolling in 2023. In two years at Alabama he helped the team to a Final Four and Elite Eight averaging around five points both seasons.
Ultimately his talent outweighs his production and Stevenson felt like the odd man out in a loaded Crimson frontcourt this season.
He now heads to Carolina where he will be part of a talented frontcourt that includes Arizona transfer Henri Veesaar and five-star Caleb Wilson.
Stevenson has two years of eligibility remaining.
