One of the best guards in the portal is headed to Big Ten power Illinois, as ESPN's Jeff Borzello reported that Providence College's Stefan Vaaks has committed to the Illini.
Vaaks was a revelation this year, averaging just over 15 points and three assists for the Friars, all while shooting 35 percent from behind the three-point arc as a freshman. Among his biggest games, were a 23 point, five assist performance against St. John's in the Big East Tournament, and 25 points and four assists with five three-pointers made against Villanova.
A 6'7 lead-ball handler originally from Estonia, Vaaks should fit in seamlessly with the returnees from this year's Final Four squad.
