Rick Pitino lands arguably the best player in the portal, as St. John's has landed Seton Hall star guard Kadary Richmond, in news first reported by Jonathan Givony of ESPN.
Richmond is a big 6'6 guard who had a breakout senior season at Seton Hall, averaging just under 16 points, to go along with seven rebounds and five assists per game, helping lead them to an NIT title. That included a 21-point, 11 rebound, 11 assist triple double during Big East play.
Richmond will now head to St. John's where he hopes to lead the Red Storm to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2019, and their first NCAA Tournament win since 2000.
He'll have one year of eligibility remaining.
