Wake Forest adds key piece via the portal

Wake Forest added a key piece via the portal on Wednesday, as former Florida guard Tyree Appleby committed to the Demon Deacons.

The 6'1 Appleby began his career at Cleveland State, before playing the last two years at Florida, with his best season coming this year, when he averaged 10 points 3.7 assists. He immediately will bring scoring pop and versatility to the Wake Forest backcourt, as he can play both on and off the ball.

Because this is Appelby's second transfer, he will need a waiver to compete immediately.
