St. John's coach Mike Anderson is on fire, picking up yet another transfer piece. On Saturday, former Rutgers forward Montez Mathis chose the Johnnies, picking the school over interest from Clemson and several other schools.
Mathis was a key reserve for the Scarlet Knights NCAA Tournament team this year, averaging 8.3 points off the bench. He joins several off-season transfer additions for St. Johns this spring, including former Fordham big man Joel Soriano, who committed earlier this week.
