It was a crushing day for Penny Hardaway at Memphis, as three players, all three from his original, No. 1 ranked high school recruiting class in 2019 entered the transfer portal. The three players were sophomores Boogie Ellis, DJ Jeffries and Damion Baugh, all three major contributors on last year's team.
Ellis was the team's third-leading scorer, averaging 10.2 points per game and shooting 38 percent, while Jeffries was the fourth-leading scorer at 9.9 points per contest. Baugh has showed flashes the last two years, but averaged just 3.6 points per game this season.
Expect Ellis and Jeffries to be among the highest-pursued players in the portal this off-season.
